On Friday afternoon, the Robinson Volunteer Fire Department in Texas received a call from a concerned citizen who had witnessed an elderly woman with a cane push-mowing her yard.
RVFD sent out an “all hands on deck” call looking for volunteers to help the elderly woman and within hours, eight firefighters were out at “Miss Linda’s” yard to mow, pull weeds, and pick up debris.
At first, Miss Linda tried to refuse the help. Eventually, she let the crew help her and when it was all said and done, she was grateful and called it “beautiful.”
“The end she gave us hugs,” said one firefighter. “And that was worth it all.”
