Residents of Waipio, Hawaii have alerted authorities about a local river that smells like beer!
One person described the smell as “like a beer pub that hadn’t opened its doors in three or four days.”
After testing, it turned out that the river had an alcohol level of 1.2%.
For comparison, a bottle of Budweiser is around 5%.
As far as why, the running theory appears to be “contaminated runoff from a pipe” with connection to a local beverage company.
