Al Nixon has a tradition.
Al has watched the sunrise from a bench at his local park, seven days a week, for years.
It started when he was having trouble at work, and he needed to clear his head.
He started showing up every day from 6 to 8, and people started confiding in him. They told him about their children, their own childhoods, and their finances.
“Mostly people just want to be heard,” Al said. “I’ve heard a thousand stories. I don’t consider myself all that smart, or debonair, but I’m a good listener.”
