Doctor Leaves Family His Sports Card Collection Worth $20Million

After his passing, a doctor left behind a sports memorabilia collection that’s valued at $20-million.

Dr. Thomas Newman mainly collected baseball cards and had some of the rarest cards, with most in near-perfect condition.

One of the gems is a 1933 Babe Ruth card that’s expected to break the record of $5.2-million for any sports card.

Along with the signed Babe Ruth card, Newman’s collection includes a 1952 Mickey Mantle rookie card that’s expected to sell for over $1-million, cards of Ty Cobb, Lou Gehrig, and Ted Williams and World Series program books going back to 1903.

The online auction begins June 21st.
