Janeal Wright says he wasn’t aware of the importance of social distancing. Say what??!!
Chicago police are expected to issue a citation in connection with a West Rogers Park party last week during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Video of the celebration showed a few dozen people dancing to loud music at a wedding party outside a home at Farwell and Francisco avenues.
Police responded to break up the crowd for violating stay-at-home orders. The announcement of the citation comes two days after CPD ticketed the owner of a Northwest Side home where a crowded party took place this past weekend. Video of that gathering went viral.
Wright said he threw the party to honor two friends who were gunned down in 2018. The home is owned by his mother, who was cited by police for disorderly conduct.
The Sun Times reports the mother is Chicago Fire Department commander Christine Matthews.
