Keep Animals Inside: Code Blue for Somerset County

The Humane Society of Somerset County is issuing a Code Blue for Somerset and surrounding counties from 6am Wednesday through 10am Friday.

Frostbite and hypothermia are real for dogs, cats, and all animals left out in arctic temperatures.  All pets MUST be kept indoors during the Code Blue and should only be let out long enough to relieve themselves (10 minute maximum).  This includes dogs usually kept in outdoor kennels.

Anyone in violation of the warning could be subject to fine, removal of pets and/or possible jail time.  If you see an animal left out, report to 911 or the shelter 814-443-2121 (between 9 & 5) or report to the Humane Officer after hours at 814-279-8993.
