Thanksgiving is on Thursday, but most people don’t wait until the day before to start thawing the turkey. According to Butterball.com, frozen turkeys need a day to thaw for every 4 pounds of weight. So… if you’ve got a 12 pound turkey or larger, it should already be thawing if you plan on using the refrigerator method!
If you need instructions on the “cold water thawing method”… or want more info on turkey roasting instructions or recipes, get to butterball.com.
I’ve only made roast turkey a couple of times in my life. Partly, because I usually make desserts for our extended family dinner, and partly because we’d make a chicken when it was just me and my mom on Thanksgiving.
Whatever you have for your Thanksgiving meal, enjoy it and the company you share it with!
