A book checked out 81 years ago has been returned to the library.
Howard Schweitzer’s mother borrowed a copy of “Gone With The Wind” from the Carrick Library in 1937 and never returned it. Before his mother died, he promised to return the book one day.
Schweitzer who now lives in Florida returned to Pittsburgh after hearing about a new Carrick Library building and finally returned the book.
No word if they asked him to pay for 81 years worth of overdue book fees.
