According to executive director Jessica Vamos, the animal shelter at the Humane Society of Cambria County is temporarily closed because of a positive test for parvo. She said a young puppy carrying the parvo virus was brought in by Animal Control earlier this this week. The shelter could be closed for up to 3 days while the facility is being disinfected and checked.
Parvo can cause serious gastrointestinal illness in puppies and unvaccinated dogs. For more information on the parvo virus, click HERE.
