NASHVILLE NEWS & NOTES – FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 2018!

Dolly Parton is remembering her good friend and movie co-star Burt Reynolds.  Burt died yesterday at the age of 82 and Dolly turned to social media to express her sorrow.  She wrote “You will always be my favorite sheriff, rest in peace my little buddy and I will always love you.”  Dolly and Burt starred alongside each other in the 1982 film, “The Best Little *House in Texas.”
Carrie Underwood is calling off a series of performances due to an illness.  Carrie’s scheduled performance at the Long Road Festival in England tomorrow has been called off, as well as several upcoming appearances in the UK.  Carrie is currently pregnant with her second child, but the nature of her sickness was not revealed.
Several country stars are nominated for a People’s Choice Award this year.  Thomas Rhett is up for Male Artist of 2018 and Carrie Underwood is nominated for Female Artist of 2018.  Other nominees include Dan + Shay, Sugarland, Little Big Town, Kenny Chesney and Shania Twain.  Fans can vote through September 14th.  The People’s Choice Awards will air on E! on November 11th.
