Scotty McCreery and Gabi Dugal tied the knot on Saturday in their native North Carolina.  About 200 family and friends attended.  The newlyweds had their first dance as husband and wife to Elvis Presley’sCan’t Help Falling In Love.”  Scotty’s father was his best man.  The couple is planning to leave for a tropical honeymoon in Tahiti tomorrow.
Lauren Alaina and Luke Combs are joining the all-star lineup for “A Capitol Fourth.”  July 4th on PBS.  Jimmy Buffet, the Beach Boys, Pentatonix, the Temptations and CeCe Winans are also on the bill.  John Stamos will serve as the host of the festivities.  “A Capitol Fourth” is the nation’s longest-running live televised broadcast.
Alan Jackson was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame last week in New York City.  Alan called it an honor to be in the same league with past songwriter honorees like Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson and other songwriting legends.  Alan said “Most people I know are just working, trying to make a living, raise children, have a good time and enjoy life. Sometimes their lives are already hard and they just want something that makes ’em feel good or helps them get through a hard time.  Music is a relief from some of that sometimes.”
