Ronco Bankrupt

Remember the commercials for the Pocket Fisherman, maybe the Veg O Matic or the spray on hair?  They were all products of Ron Popeil and his Ronco Company.  Back in 2005 he sold the company for $60 million dollars.  The new owners have filed for bankruptcy.

The business began back in 1969 and became huge in the 1980’s when rules were eased to allow what we now know as infomercials. 30 minute commercials that were used to sell items like the Showtime Rotisserie Over (remember “set it and forget it?”)

The new Ronco currently has liabilities of $10 million.
