NASHVILLE NEWS & NOTES – THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 2018!

MGM Resorts International is re-numbering the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas, where a shooter fired at concertgoers last October from a suite on the 32nd floor, killing 58 people at the Route 91 Harvest Festival across the street.  Mandalay Bay is changing the numbers on floors 31 through 34 as floors 56 through 59.   The room where the shooter opened fire is still closed.
Vince Gill is sharing his #MeToo story with fans at Nashville’s Country Radio Seminar.  Vince told a crowd at the Ryman Auditorium on Tuesday he was assaulted by a school gym teacher in the 7th grade.  He said he never had the guts to share his story, but the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements gave him courage.  Gill’s performance was one of the only ones that night to receive a standing ovation.
Dierks Bentley is being recognized for his charity work.  He received the Humanitarian Award this week during the annual Country Radio Seminar.  Dierks has raised millions-of-dollars in recent years to benefit children’s hospitals across the country.  He’s also being applauded for organizing and hosting the Country Cares concert in support of those affected by wildfires in his home state of Arizona.
