NASHVILLE NEWS & NOTES – THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2018!

Loretta Lynn is canceling her only show for the year.  The 85-year-old country music icon was supposed to perform at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma in May.  It’s not clear why the show is canceled, but Lynn recently fell broke her hip.  She also suffered a stroke last year.
Brantley Gilbert is hiring a full orchestra to perform with him during an upcoming concert in Nashville.  Gilbert’s May 4th show at Ascend Amphitheater will be much different than the other stops on his “The Ones That Like Me Tour.”  The country music star will perform his biggest hits backed by a full orchestra.  It will be led by famed Nashville-based conductor, Jim Gray.
When two country music powerhouses team up for a 1990’s pop hit, what could go wrong?  Miranda Lambert enlisted the help of buddy Maren Morris for her latest Glam Jam.  They sang TLC’s 1999 hit song, “No Scrubs,” alongside Lambert’s hair stylists and makeup artists.  The pre-show performance was posted on Instagram.
