NASHVILLE NEWS & NOTES – FRIDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2017!

Pop star Pink has been added to the 2017 CMA Awards performers list. The Country Music Association has also revealed that the show will begin this year with an “unprecedented opening collaboration.”  In addition to Pink, those newly added to the lineup include Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, and Keith Urban. All four artists are up for awards, too.  The 2017 CMA Awards are scheduled to air on ABC on Nov. 8, at 8PM ET; the ceremony will take place live at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will host for the 10th year in a row.
Nashville’s historic Bluebird Cafe recently launched a campaign to fund the indie film Bluebird: The Movie, a documentary about the legendary venue’s influence on artists, songwriters and the music world at large. The Bluebird marks the site where superstars Garth Brooks and Taylor Swift were discovered, while Keith Urban, Dierks Bentley and several other huge stars have also started there as songwriters.  A fundraising page has been set up to attempt to raise their goal of  $500,000 and ends on Nov. 20.
Chris Janson tells CMT that he and Tyler Farr were roommates when they started out in the music industry together. ”Tyler and I kind of oddly shared the same apartment in and out. He was playing bars, too. People always make jokes about Ramen noodle diets but that was basically it — that and the kids’ meal at Cracker Barrel.”
