CMT reports former baseball great Cal Ripken, Jr. and NASCAR star Kevin Harvick have opened a new baseball field in Vero Beach, Florida called Jake Owen Field. Jake was there for the ribbon cutting ceremony and says; “I have great memories of playing baseball as a kid growing up in Vero Beach, I never imagined that one day there would be a baseball field here with my name on it. I’m thankful for music being the creative outlet that got me to where I am today.”
If you had your eyes on Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley’s house, you’re too late!  Variety magazine claims Charles has sold his Nashville home for $2.9 million. It has four bedrooms, a pool and a putting green.
Garth Brooks became the first celebrity to go live on Facebook from NASA’s Mission Control Center at Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, and fans watched worldwide as Garth spoke to astronaut Jack Fischer live in space. As for whether Garth would ever consider an invitation to join him in space, he says “not unless they want a concert up there” because the singer calls himself “too much of a wuss.”  He continues the Garth Brooks World Tour with Trisha Yearwood throughout the year.
