NASHVILLE NEWS & NOTES – FRIDAY, MAY 5, 2017!

You’ve heard of performers telling other performers to “break a leg.”  It means “give your best show!”  Well, according to The NY Post, Jennifer Nettles took the expression a little too literally when she broke a rib yesterday while getting ready to perform at a Time Magazine presentation to advertisers. She tripped on a lighting fixture at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York before falling. Jennifer later tweeted; “Thanks for all your kind wishes. Broken rib and banged up, but I’ll rally.”
Remember last summer when fires destroyed a large portion of East Tennessee?  Hometown girl Dolly Parton set up a foundation to help the victims—and it turned out better than planned!  WATE-TV in Knoxville claims $9 million was raised for victims of the Tennessee wildfires. Each family that applied for help from Dolly received $1,000 a month for six months. Since so much more monies were raised, each family will now be getting a final payment of $5,000 instead of $1,000.
So…is she coming back or not?  Taylor Swift fans are slowly learning more about the one-time country star’s reported new music. A source shares with E! News that Taylor “has been writing and recording her new album in Nashville for the last several months.”  But will it be country or is she staying on the pop-side?  The source says, “She has been working on it around the clock and will be making an announcement soon.”
