NASHVILLE NEWS & NOTES – TUESDAY, APRIL 11, 2017!

Sad news out of Nashville.  Jeff Cook, guitarist and vocalist with the Supergroup Alabama, is stepping away from touring—at least for now.  “The Tennessean” newspaper is reporting Jeff is stepping down due to an ongoing battle with Parkinson’s disease.  He was originally diagnosed four years ago but decided to step down at this time.  Frontman and co-founder Randy Owen says, “If and when Jeff feels up to touring again, he will have a place on stage next to me and Teddy (Gentry).”  Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jeff and his family.
The continuing saga of the TV show NASHVILLE has gotten some good news!  The series that moved from ABC to CMT has been renewed for another season…although it will be without leading lady Connie Britton, whose character, Rayna James, died and was written off the show!  The new season, which will be season six, premieres early next year.  The second half of season 5 kicks off again in June!
Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott tells People magazine that she no longer wears low rise jeans because of her daughter.  Hillary says, “(my daughter) wants me to get on the floor and play with her and I can’t wear a pair of low rise jeans that my rear end is gonna hang out of if I bend over!”
