NASHVILLE NEWS & NOTES – THURSDAY, APRIL 6, 2017!

Hard to believe it’s been a year since country legend Merle Haggard passed away.  That’s why dozens of country’s biggest names will perform at a concert tonight to honor “The Hag” on what would have been his 80th birthday.  Some of the artists performing tonight include Jake Owen, Chris Janson, Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley, Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, Ronnie Dunn, Hank Williams, Jr., Kacey Musgraves, Toby Keith, Alabama, Jamey Johnson and Lynyrd Skynyrd.  A portion of the proceeds from the concert will benefit the T.J. Martell Foundation.
Reba has spilled the beans on the name of her new ABC drama.  Reba recently told After Midnite’s Cody Allen her new show is a Southern Gothic soap opera entitled Red Blooded.   Reba will play a sheriff of a small town in Kentucky, who finds her views challenged when a young FBI agent of Middle Eastern decent is sent to help her solve a crime.  Reba previously starred in two sitcoms!  This will be her first venture into a more serious role!  If and when the series is scheduled for air, I’ll let you know!
Thomas Rhett recently told One Country he left his cell phone unattended backstage at last weekend’s ACM Awards.  So, did anyone mess with it?  You bet!  Thomas found selfies of Chris Stapleton on his phone a few days later!  Looks like someone needs to activate the fingerprint lock!
