NASHVILLE NEWS & NOTES – THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2017!

Keith Urban leads this year’s ACM nomination with seven nods, including Album of the Year, Single and Song of the Year and Entertainer of the Year.  Lady Antebellum unveiled the first round of nominees for this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards Thursday on CBS This Morning.  The rest of the nods were announced live on ETOnline.com.

Miranda Lambert and Maren Morris both received six nods, while Florida Georgia Line and Tim McGraw have five apiece.  Dierks Bentley, Thomas Rhett and Chris Stapleton have three nods each.

Reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year Jason Aldean vies to keep his title against previous winners Luke Bryan and Carrie Underwood in 2017. Florida Georgia Line and Keith Urban both have a chance at their first win in the category.

Luke and Male Vocalist nominee Dierks Bentley will host the show Sunday, April 2, live from the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Thomas Rhett is going to be a daddy — not once, but twice!  “We are so happy to announce that we are pregnant & in the process of adopting a child from Africa!”  Both Lauren and TR have been active with the 147 Million Orphans organization, which sparked their interest in international adoption. They’d already started the process and decided to wait on having a biological child when Lauren started feeling sick in December, while on safari in Tanzania with Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard and his wife Hayley.  TR and Lauren hope to finalize their African adoption before their other little one arrives in early August.
Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley will pitch in to help St. Bernard Academy, as he performs at the April 18 benefit for the school at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium.  The show to commemorate the institution’s 150th anniversary.  St. Bernard is Music City’s oldest elementary school, founded by six members of the Sisters of Mercy shortly after the Civil War.
