…and the winner is…Sundance HeadSundance Head edged out Billy Gilman to win Season 11 of “The Voice” last night!  Cresson native Josh Gallagher finished fourth in the voting.  The win for Team Blake gives coach Blake Shelton his fifth series win.  Adam Levine trails with three wins.
A star-studded lineup of celebrities and music stars, brought together by Dolly Parton, helped raised millions of dollars Tuesday night to support the victims of the Sevier County wildfires.  The ‘Smoky Mountains Rise‘ telethon led to such a huge response that phone lines were overwhelmed and organizers had to add another two lines for people to call in on.  How much money was raised remains a mystery, although Dolly herself did reveal that the amount is in the ‘millions.’ More than a dozen performances filled the three-hour show including Alabama, Hank Williams Jr., Cyndi Lauper, Reba McEntire, Chris Stapleton, and many others.
Variety magazine is reporting Reba McEntire is headed back to television to star in a new series on ABC.  The new hour-long series is described as a “Southern Gothic soap opera” set in motion after a suspected act of terrorism happens at a Fourth of July parade in the small town of Oxblood, Ky. The untitled project, which has already received a script commitment from ABC, will star Reba as a small-town Kentucky sheriff who teams up with a Middle Eastern FBI agent to investigate the incident.
