I remember buying my first VCR in the 80’s at the Appliance Store in the Indiana Mall. It cost me around $400.00 and weighed a ton. Later I purchased one at East Hills TV around 1990….great machine. But just like those businesses it looks like the end has come for the VCR. A company in Japan called Funai has stated that by the end of the year they’ll stop producing them. They did sell 750,000 of them last year, but it’s not enough to keep them in production. What shall we do with all our VCR cassettes? I guess I’ll put them next to my audio cassettes. Although, remember what they said about vinyl records around 25 years ago???
