These same researchers found that of 16 hundred adults age 49 and older with the highest fiber intake, were almost 80 % more likely to age successfully, than those whose fiber intake was less. Fiber is proven to help reduce inflammation in the body, which is a key factor in heart disease, diabetes and other serious health problems.
