Social media was abuzz yesterday with the news that the musical drama NASHVILLE is not being renewed for a fifth season.  The show is credited with boosting tourism and film production work in Middle Tennessee.  The mayor of the real Nashville, Megan Barry, said, “We are incredibly disappointed to hear the news that ABC has not renewed the show for another season.  The show has been an enormously successful promotional tool for our city, which is why the state of Tennessee and Metro Nashville were prepared to support production for a fifth season to be filmed here.”  There are two episodes remaining.  Catch them Wednesday nights at 10pm!

For more than a week, Brad Paisley has been teasing the mystery woman in his life, in both the country music trades and on social media. Ads for his new single featured the distinctive silhouette of a female, only identified by a question mark.  Yesterday on social media, country music’s biggest prankster couldn’t keep the secret any longer.  Brad Tweeted “Drumroll… It’s @dlovato!”   That would be pop star Demi Lovato. The new single, “Without a Fight” is now available for download at your favorite music site!

Little Big Town have been nominated for a special trophy at the upcoming 2016 Billboard Music Awards.  LBT is one of five finalists for the Billboard Chart Achievement Award.  That is thanks to the success of their massive single “Girl Crush” because the song set the record for most weeks spent at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs chart by a group of at least three members. “Girl Crush” spent 13 weeks at No. 1 on that chart, beating out the Browns’ “The Three Bells,” which spent 10 weeks at the top in 1959.  The 2016 Billboard Music Awards will take place in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena on May 22.
