After the huge success of Dolly Parton‘s made-for-TV movie, “Coat of Many Colors,” it’s now official — NBC is making a sequel.  Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love will recount Dolly’s family’s struggle through an unexpected blizzard, as her father strives to give Dolly’s mama the wedding ring he’s never been able to afford. At the same time, a pivotal figure in Dolly’s life starts to recognize her talent.  The entire cast of the original movie will return, with Jennifer Nettles playing Dolly’s mother and Ricky Schroder starring as her dad. Alyvia Alyn will reprise her role as little Dolly.

Kelsea Ballerini is providing makeovers to 50 deserving women with some help from beauty giant Mary Kay.  Kelsea will be the face of Mary Kary’s Global Day of Beauty today, treating New York City-area survivors of domestic abuse to a day of pampering.  The goal is to do a million makeovers in the United States eventually moving on to other countries, as well.

The final recording from the late Merle Haggard, “Kern River Blues,” will be available to download on Thursday. The song about leaving Bakersfield, California in the seventies was written and recorded during his final days as he battled pneumonia. A percentage of the money from the single will go to charities that benefit the homeless.
