Merle Haggard, will be remembered Saturday in Palo Cedro, California, in a private memorial service led by Marty Stuart and Connie Smith.  Marty told The Nashville Tennessean newspaper Merle pre-planned his whole service!  Merle requested that Connie sing ‘Precious Memories,’ thathme and Connie sing his song ‘Silver Wings,’ and that Marty officiate the service. Haggard passed away Wednesday, after a recurring case of double pneumonia. He was 79.

Patsy Cline will soon be Johnny Cash’s upstairs neighbor in downtown Nashville. Bill Miller, the founder of the popular Johnny Cash Museum, is set to start construction on a similar structure honoring Patsy, who died in a plane crash at the peak of her career in 1963.  The museum will feature never-before-seen pieces from the family’s personal collection, including Patsy’s personal possessions, costumes, awards, letters, furniture and photos. It’s set to be the largest collection of rare Patsy Cline artifacts in the world. No word so far on an opening date.
