Dolly Parton will be given a special honor at the ACM Awards on April 3.  The award is in recognition of the great ratings her autobiographical TV movie, Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors, scored when it aired last year. The award is called the Tex Ritter Award and was established to recognize popular movies that either use or features country music.  Past winners include Walk the Line, Crazy Heart, Sweet Dreams, O Brother, Where Art Thou and Dolly’s own The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.  The ACM Awards will air live from Las Vegas April 3 on CBS.

Great news for Alan Jackson fans!  Alan plans to release a live concert DVD!  The concert footage was shot during a May 2015 performance at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado and will include 26 live performances featuring most of Alan’s biggest hits!  Alan Jackson: Keeping It Country will be available beginning May 6!  Preorders are being accepted at Alan’s web site!

There could be a collaboration in the works if you believe what you see on Instagram!  Former N’Sync heartthrob Justin Timberlake took a selfie of himself along with Karen and Kimberly from Little Big Town with the caption “No big deal…Just writing with Little Big Town.”  Little Big Town re-tweeted Timberlake’s photo, but neither act has remarked further on their collaboration.
