Sir Paul McCartney is attempting to get back the publishing rights to some of the Beatles’ catalog. McCartney reportedly filed notices on 32 songs last year, and is thought to have filed previously on many of his earlier songs. Provisions of the U.S. Copyright Act, allows songwriters to regain their rights after 56 years, if they file a termination of claims. The arrangement would only be good in the United States, as Sony /ATV owns the global rights..Let’s hope Sir Paul can get his music catalog back !!!
